To post a credit note for an insurance job you need to post the whole amount of the credit note including the excess to the insurance company.
NB: If the customer account is CASHR you will need to change the account type to manual while posting the contra and then change it back to cash afterwards..
The transactions on the sales ledger accounts will show as below.
Customer Account
Invoice £100.00 paid
Payment £100.00cr paid
Contra £100.00-
Insurance Account
Invoice £111.50
Credit note £211.50
Contra £100.00
When the invoice is redone using CASHR the excess will pay
off again so you will need to post a refund to the account for this amount.
