If
you are trying to change a reg to a private plate or its age related plate and
getting ‘Registration already exists’ check the following:
- Has a job been booked/processed under the
private/age related reg (before reg changed in CRM>Change Registration
function)?
- Has the private reg been used as the Part
Exchange on a new vehicle sale in Car Sales before the reg had been changed on
the old car in CRM?
(The above are the most common
reasons for this issue as the reg should always be changed before booking any
jobs or adding on as a part exchange)
To resolve the issue if the ‘Duplicate/New’ reg
is on CRM with service history:
- Click into History Tab in CRM Record
- Click Move to move the service history to the correct/already existing
vehicle in CRM (you can check which is the correct vehicle by checking the VIN
number etc)
- Once moved you can then Delete the vehicle (using SUPERVISOR
username and a level 9 password).
If there is no history and it is just a reg in CRM
you can delete this straight away to free up the reg
To Change the Reg of a vehicle you can do the following:
- Click CRM
- Click Change Registration
- Enter the Reg No you want to change
- Press Enter
- Enter the New Reg Number
NOTE: if there is an active job on file (i.e.
not invoiced) once you have done the above and changed the reg
correctly/accordingly, amend the job and re-enter the reg to ensure it attaches
the history to the correct vehicle
